AAUW Power
AAUW’s power stems from its membership. With more than 170,000 members and supporters nationwide, the American Association of University Women is a powerful voice for women and girls – a voice that cannot and will not be ignored.
AAUW was founded in 1881, when popular wisdom held that higher education impaired women’s health. Our first research debunked that misconception, and ever since we have worked to tear down the barriers that block women from full equity.
AAUW Network
AAUW’s network has made us one of the leading women’s organizations in the country for more than a century. Join one of the more than 1,000 AAUW branches nationwide – in workplaces, on campus, and even on-line. Share in the opportunities for activism with the Napa County’s branch. Meet with others in your community to develop programs that promote education and equity. With opportunities to serve on the Napa County Branch’s board, committees, and panels, you can enhance your leadership skills. Be a part of an organization that is known for taking a stand on crucial issues affecting women: Equity in education and the workplace. Civil rights. Affirmative action. Reproductive choice. Social Security.
